She/Her
E. E. Walker is a self-taught, multi-disciplinary artist born and raised in Eastern Iowa. She owns a creative studio, Cellar Door art & design, that offers a variety of freelance services. Her range of mediums include artificial and natural light photography, graphic design, web design, and mixed media illustration.
As a volunteer, Walker has worked alongside several animal shelters including Last Hope Animal Rescue of Cedar Rapids, IA to photograph animals up for adoption (see Shelter Stories) in an effort to find them permanent homes. After her term on the boards of PFLAG Cedar Rapids and CR Pride, she continued as an event photographer of the annual pride festival. In 2020, Walker joined the board of Lavender Legal Center as chair and a founding member until the end of her 4 year term. In 2023, Walker joined the team at Mediaverse Studios, a local film production co-op, where she works on and off screen as a makeup artist, set designer, actor, and BTS photographer. As an enthusiast of local music, arts, and theatre; Walker enjoys any opportunity to attend a show or pick up an instrument. Most recently, she has taken the position of Executive Director at the Amana Arts Guild, a nonprofit organization that offers a diverse set of programs and activities providing a wide range of cultural experiences in all areas of the arts.
Walker's artistic projects span across multiple mediums, each infused with her personal experiences and commitment to social justice. She would like to use her platform to amplify the voices of resilience and advocacy. Her work is deeply rooted in women's and LGBTQ+ rights, and she seeks to create a space where vulnerability leads to empowerment, encouraging others to speak out and share their stories.
